Jerard, now Ranger coach, mentioned the incident in his autobiography and said it was the only time he had laughed in the tunnel before a match.
Speaking for “BBC”, Nickles has recently expressed itself: “Mother bought the book and there's a picture where I look at the gesture.
I sent a copy to Gerard to sign it, and he signed it for me. ”
