Professor and analyst Blerim Latifi writes for “the first presidential mistakes of Vjosa Osmani”. According to Latifi, they are the AKI police broadcast, the Walkerin/Walkerintratratratratrats and the Critrics for Bulgaria.
Here's Mr. Latif:
Vjosa Osman's first three presidential mistakes
- Confrontation in AKI police.
In the first days of entry into the office of the presidency, Vjosa Osmani alarmed the public and police on what was called “opening the safe that was located in the chief of state's office by AKI officials”. What do they keep in these boxes? Nothing but regular reports that AKI sends to the president and prime minister, two single state institutions that respond. Of course, those reports contain classified information that only the president and prime minister should have. What if those reports took EULEX, or fell into the hands of Vjosa Osmani advisers, who, out of their ignorance, could easily be thrown into the portals? The other: the current president, the less he is a task leader of the president, has no right to read intelligence reports which are dedicated to the last president. So AKI officials have done very well if they've received those reports, because this action has ensured the integrity of their institution and national interest of the state.
2. Deal with Walker
Cutting off the contract Walker had with the presidency of Kosovo was a serious moral error of the presidential taskman. A mistake that at its core reflects Osman's incontinence with anything related to former President Thaci. Schopenhauer has a very precise atmosphere: when we hate someone, we hate everything about him, not just his bads, but his goods. Vjosa Osmani must teach himself that at the office of the presidency it is not to express her personal feelings about this person or that person but to carry out the constitutional duties of that office. Personalisation of the institution is a practice that reeks of authoritarianism, and by no means democratic political culture.
- Critical for Bulgaria.
In a television studio two days ago, Vjosa Osmani criticised Bulgaria for conditioning it is making to Northern Macedonia on its European integration path. Why should Kosovo interfere with this problem? Why should Kosovo take sides with this dispute? Why should Kosovo worry about European integration of other countries, at the time when we are at the bottom of the well in terms of European integration? Why should Kosovo offend Bulgaria, the only state in the region, which is in the European Union, and has a supportive attitude for Kosovo without any reserve or conditioning? This merely shows serious diplomatic immatureness
