Border police in Morina have confirmed that starting at 9am on Saturday, around 1,700 vehicles and about 4,700 Kosovo citizens have passed into Albania.
Based on figures published by the Albanian Statistics Institute in October of this year, 124.492 citizens from Kosovo have entered Albania, compared to 9,2001 citizens who entered in October 2019, marking an increase of 35.3%.
In January-October 2019, 2,096,989 people from Kosovo have entered Albania, while in January-October of this year 1,223,770 people have entered Albania.
Economic experts in Albania think Albanian tourism survived this season thanks to patriotic tourism. 52.5% of the total number of foreign visitors in the January-October period of this year are citizens from Kosovo. For this 10-month total of Albania has been visited by 2,328,641 foreigners or 60.2% less than the same period in 2019, where 1,223,770 people from the total figure are visitors from Kosovo.
