Jose Mourinho has made his first signing in Tottenham after Benfia midfielder Gedson Fernandes has joined the club in a 18-month borrowing agreement.
Spurs won the race to sign with 21-year-old before West Ham. West Ham had hoped to finalise the deal with Fernandes by the end of last week, but he was later offered Spurs by Jorge Mendez, Hourinho's agent.

Sportsmail reported on Tuesday that Tottenham had agreed to a long-term loan agreement that includes an opportunity to buy Portuguese for 56 million pounds.
Morainho was seeking to strengthen his team this month due to damage problems.
Tottenham lost the Moussa Sisoko midfielder to a serious knee injury earlier this month, while Tangey Kreme fitnessi is unstable.
Midfielders Eric Dier and Harry Winks have also suffered injuries, while Ericksen is expected to leave England.
