Former Albanian Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri says convinced that radares at the national security centre in Saban have not been turned off.

During a statement to the media after the session, the former minister said Albania's National Security is not in the hands of an operator, however the institution is.

In my knowledge radar technically cannot be turned off. The prosecution had two years to prove that if under any criminal activity these radars could be shut down. I know no and I have proof that I didn't and I said that in the hearing. Let the DA come and say no, these radar are off. I say no and no it never happened to turn off the radar. National security in Albania's republic has not been given a key to an operator, whoever it is, in any institution, in any capacity. The prosecution speculates that this is part of criminal activity”, he said.

Tahiri addressed reporters, saying they have forgotten the time when he was minister and fought as Lazarati said. “You forgot the minister that I was, never forget what I was, was a time that we fought Lazarati, how I could already violate the eye of some traffickers”, he said.

This is the most important battle of my life, I left the MP to face justice, so it wasn't with the shadow of being in power. I'm looking forward to it by 19, but I'll wait for the court to make a decision. There are deputies and former prime ministers in this country who are facing serious charges even of murder, they have not even gone to the prosecutor, but I gave up everything. I care about justice together with freedom, I want to be free”, Tahiri concluded.
