During this meeting, as the statement reports, US Kosovo's close co-operation was discussed, for political developments in our country, strengthening the international subjectivity of the state of Kosovo, American support in this process and the Euro-Atlantic perspective of the state of Kosovo.
Wessel, said in the communiqué, thanked Congressman Engel for his decades-long commitment to support Kosovo and through it, the state and the American people.
Congressman Engel, for his part, said the United States of America would continue to be alongside Kosovo in all the processes it has in store for itself.
“Engel said the European Union should take quick steps for visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens and work together with Kosovo in Euro-integration processes. He also said Serbia should recognise Kosovo's independent and sovereign state”, the communiqué from the Parliament said.
At this meeting, Chief Parliamentary Veselin and Congressman Engel also talked about the initiative of Kosovo's chief parliament for condemning genocide and crimes Serbia has committed in Kosovo.
Engel said criminals should respond to justice for all crimes they committed against the civilian population during the war in Kosovo.
