Kosovo and the region have no opportunity to influence these, but their leaders can make a big difference if they act together and for the common good. That sounds like a banality, but it's true”, he says. However... it is also possible that if they interact, they will be able to work for their common good, not the region's”, notes Judah, reconfirming distrust already expressed in the qualities of regional leaders.
On the other hand, Judah also speaks of the prospect of EU integration, which has seemingly lost direction.
“So far, EU integration is seen as the future and as a way to confront historical heritage along the way. I hope that's still so, but the truth is that most of Europe is becoming biochanized faster than the Balkans are becoming Europeanised”, he says in a conversation for “Chrees”
I don't know if this is well understood in the region or if ordinary people understand this is a threat. Many Balkan leaders would certainly welcome integration into a Europe, where courts and media are directed and controlled the same as in their countries, as if there were always more and more cases in Hungary and Poland”, Yehuhu points out, concluding with the words: “I'm not very optimistic...”
