Finland as the EU leader: Kosovo meets visa criteria

The European Union states are continuing not to be in a voice concerning visa liberalisation for Kosovo.
While some of them support visa waivers, a certain number of EU member states are still not moving from the current position against visas. Senior officials in Finland, which on July 1st this year has taken over the chairmanship of the EU Presidency, have told “Zerin” that visa liberalisation for Kosovo depends on meeting the set criteria, while the final decision on this process depends on the EU Council of Ministers.
Meanwhile, since Great Britain is not part of the Schengen Zone, Great Britain Embassy officials in Pristina have said this state does not participate in decisions related to liberalisation.
And representatives of Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MPJ) have confirmed for “Zerin” that they support the removal of visas for Kosovo citizens, writes the newspaper “Zri” today.
