What are ultra processed foods?

The term comes from a way of classifying food from how much industrial processing has passed.

The lowest category is “raw or processed food minimally”, which includes: • vegetables • milk • legumes • lentils • seeds • seeds • such as rice • eggs

“processed selections” have been changed to make them last longer or taste better by generally using salt, oil, sugar or fermentation.

This category includes: • cheese • ham • home-made bread • fruit and canrva vegetables • smoked fish • beer

Then come “ultra processed foods”, which have gone through larger industrial processings and often have long constituent lists in packing, including additional storage, sweeteners or color upgrades, Periscope transmits.

If a product contains more than five components, it is probably very elaborate, says Prof Maira Bes-Rtorlo, of the University of Navarra, citing a principle.

Examples include: • processed meats such as sausage and hamburger • morning seeds or cereal bars • instant soups • Boily drinks • Chicken fingers • Torta • Chocolate • Ice cream • Mass-made bread • A lot of foods ready to warm like pizza

 

How bad were the discoveries?

The first study, from the University of Navarra in Spain, tested 19,899 people for a decade and praised their diet every next year. There were 335 deaths during the study.

But for every 10 deaths among those who eat the lowest processed food, there have been 16 deaths among those eating the most (more than four parts a day).

The second study, from the University of Paris, tested 105,159 people for five years and praised their diet twice a year.

It showed that those who ate more processed food from the ultrasoil had the worst heart condition.

The rate of cardiovascular disease was 277 per 100,000 people per year among those who eat the lowest processed food, compared to 242 per 100,000 among those who eat at least.

The rapid increase in ultra-worked foods on less processed foods “could cause a significant burden of cardiovascular diseases in the coming decades”, said Dr. Matchild Touvier, of Paris University.

So these foods damage your health?

“Witness is gathering”, Dr. Touvier said, noting “an increasing number of independent studies”. Prof Bes-Rasterlo said it was “very safe” the ultra-processed foods were bad for health.

Last year, a relationship was made with a risk on the rise of cancer.

The challenge is 100% certain. Studies have discovered a pattern between processed food and poor health, but they cannot prove that one causes another.

Those who ate the most highly processed food were also more likely to have other unwholesome behavior, such as smoking, which researchers tried to render an account.

The ultra-worked food makes you eat more.

While the term ultra-exploited food may be new, health advice will be well known: to approve a Mediterranean diet.

Such a diet includes many scarce or raw foods, such as fruits, vegetables, fish, nuts and seeds, beans, lentils, said Victoria Taylor, dietologist at the British Heart Foundation.

This, along with regular exercise and nonsmoking, has proved helpful in reducing the risk of heart disease. ”/Periscope
