We know babies take advantage of the swings to sleep. One study now suggests that doing so helps adults to get better sleep.
Researchers from the University of Geneva have built a special bed that easily sways throughout the night.
They tested him in 18 adults and found that they woke up less at night and that they slept deeper than in a normal bed.
Scientists said the quakes resulted in a longer period of slow brain waves that caused deep sleep and improved their memory.
The electrodes that recorded brain waves found that the period of deep sleep was longer by wavering.
