In her speech, social entrepreneur and activist Nadya Okamoto spoke of taboos surrounding the subject of menstruation such as “preventing global development”. The “needs to have little attention on this silent item, so women around the world can feel free to ask for products that are addressed to their natural needs”, she said.
On the positive side, contemporary technology has made dealing with period concerns much easier. The tampon can be irritating, but they're much more convenient than the next five products, for which we're so glad they're a thing of the past.
