New research suggests that women who work for many hours are more prone to depression than men working at the same time. Research also says that weekend work can also contribute to various mental - health problems.
This is because discontent with work can contribute to depressing feelings.
Tests of data with 22,000 workers have revealed that women who had worked long hours (more than 55 hours a week) have been 7.3% more likely to have depressive symptoms than women who work 35-40 hours a week.
Scientists have also stressed that work during weekends is linked to a higher risk of depression in the two genders, where women working on weekends have 4.6% chances of being more depressive, even men 3.4%.
They have stressed that the connection between weekend work and depression may be because weekend workers also tend to do less-paid jobs where depression is more present.
