Nowadays, many seem to be becoming increasingly focused on eating plant food and leaving out animal products. But a hamburger wouldn't be bad once in a while, would it? Especially for those who pursue a vegetarian or vegetarian diet may they be in danger of losing their nutrients. Unfortunately for meat lovers, a new study has found a link between the amount of meat of a person and the increased risk of premature death.
According to the study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, people who ate more red meat, processed meat, or simply took more animal protein than plant - based proteins in their diet had a greater chance of dying from a chronic illness. The new research looked at data from the Survey of Risk Diseases Division, a study that is following risk factors for cardiovascular diseases among males of middle age from the east of Finland, a population that ranks with the highest rates of heart disease in Europe. The research population consisted of 2,641 Finnish men who were between 42 and 60 years of age when the study began between 1984 and 1989.
After 20 years, 1,225 of them had died. Those who ate a lot of red or processed meat every day either had most of their meat proteins had a 23 - percent higher risk of premature death, according to Science Daily. However, not all animal proteins were linked to the risk of mortality: Men who took their protein through eggs, fish, or milk avoid danger; of course, men who ate more plant proteins than meat tend to survive longer.
