While sex is on the decline for married couples, single people do not report a decline in their sex life. That makes sense. Parents tend to hold on to their daily responsibilities, they put their relationship with their partner in second place. But physical intimacy is an important part of each relationship, and it helps couples to secure a strong physical and emotional bond.
While married couples or couples living together had a little more sex in 2001 than in 1991, the group reported that in 2012 couples committed fewer sexual intercourse than they did in each of the previous years surveyed.
Although the results are based on couples in the United Kingdom, overall findings match those of other countries, including the US, reports CNN.
According to the session of consulting relations “the secret to a satisfying sexual life has nothing to do with romantic feelings, technique, or even frequency. Research has revealed that good sex is linked to two key factors: maintaining a strong emotional bond and talking about your sexual preferences with your partner”.
