The Caesaric birth has been linked to a greater risk of serious complications for mother, compared with vaginal birth, especially in women 35 or older, according to a study published in “Canadian Medical Association Journal” (CMAJ).
“My parents should consider this increase in risk, when determining the best way to give birth, in particular to older mothers”, explains Diane Corb (Spit “Robert Debre” in Paris, the lead author of the study. The number of cesarean births has been markedly increased in the past 20 years, and today, more than one woman in five is born this way, often for clinically questionable reasons.
“maternity complications after a cesarean operation may be the result of pathology that has led to the east of Cesarean, more than of the surgical procedure, so it is necessary to evaluate what the connection between the Cesarean birth and the maternity complications”, Corbi confirms.

To reach a conclusion, researchers have used a subtimer of the EPIMOMS study to compare 1,444 women who had serious complications after birth with 3,464 checks that have not suffered from problems in six French regions. In the analysis, factors that could influence the results have been taken into account and that have expelled women with preexisting pathology who had been able to cause complications. After that, experts have faced an increase in opportunities for serious complications after giving birth to women who have underwent cesarean surgery when surgical intervention has been done before or during birth pains, especially for women aged 35 or older. Although heavy metre complications have not been frequent, the study has found that, for women under 35, opportunities to have serious complications have been about 1.5 times greater with cezarian than those of women who have had a vaginal birth, while for women older than 35 years, opportunities have resulted in almost doubled.
Some doctors perform cesarean operations because of their age, perhaps with the idea that a woman will no longer have more pregnancies. This practice needs to be modified to avoid the futile exposure of women older than 35, to the risk of serious mortgages attic”, Corby concludes. /Doctor33
