Air pollution can be harmful to all body organs, and likely for every cell in the human body, a study published in The Guardian newspaper says.
Research indicates that from head to foot, polluted air can affect any part.
From head, throat, and heart to diabetes or even bone and skin cancer, all can come from contaminated air. Fertility, fetus and children are also influenced by toxic air, the study says.
Systemic damage is the result of pollution caused by inflammation, and then contaminated molecules move throughout the human body through the bloodstream.
Air pollution is <x0 public health emergency”, reports the World Health Organization reports, given that 90% of the world's air is contaminated. New tests indicate that 8.8 million people a year die before air pollution, making it even more dangerous than tobacco.
The polluted arier could chronicly harm, potentially by having an effect on any body organ” is reported at the conclusion of the International Health Forum.
Professor Dean Schranfangel, of the University of Illinois in Chicago, one of the authors of the research said that: “I would not be surprised if each organ was affected”.
And Dr. Maria Neira, director of the Public Health Organisation, said that “We have very powerful evidence so far. We've analyzed more than 70,000 other scientific research and we've come to this conclusion”.
She said that in the future she expects more damage caused by air pollution to be published.
