According to a study this year by Northwestern Medicine scientists, muscles are more efficient during the day.
What does this indicate about your activity and your routine of exercise?
Scientists studied tissue in mouse muscles and discovered that they had Cyonadian clocks (indoors of the biological cycle), which controls energy and responds to metabolism based on daytime.
Rats are more active during the night, so their muscles were found to be more efficient in their night movements, using oxygen for energy, but also for the adaptation of movement.
While we humans have the same genes, the study shows that our muscles should be more efficient during our natural hours, when we're awake and when outside is light.
So, if you're part of some high-intensive training course, it's good to follow it during the morning and save yoga for the night.
Your muscles will thank you for that.
