Crushing nails is a widespread act among children and teenagers.
The technical term for which action is described as onicofagia and refers not only to aesthetic but also to oral hygiene.
According to psychologists, children who eat nails do so to cope with stress. It could be one of the lessons, a scary movie, teaching up, or various situations of tension, or even because they saw someone growing up in a family doing something like that.
As far as adults are concerned, the reasons are different, in which studies show that people who eat their nails are perfectionists and have great expectations.
It has also been found that such an act is inherited and that a parent who eats his nails is prone to do so.
But how such a custom can be renounced. Both adults and children, the punishment does not serve to combat the problem, nor does the tastey manicure.
It's all about fighting ourselves, where there should be will and consciousness not to repeat it.
