“We call on Kosovo and Serbia to engage constructively and to normalise their relations overall through a comprehensive and legally binding agreement so that they can make progress on their European path”, said a joint communique at the end of the summit.
According to the G7, without an effective and full normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina through dialogue with EU mediation cannot have long-term stability in the region.
G7 diplomatic chiefs confirm their commitment to the security, stability, prosperity and European perspective of six Western Balkan partners. They stress the importance of improving the necessary domestic reforms, particularly in terms of rule of law, according to a communique on 25 pages published on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs page.
The meeting of G7 ministers was held on Friday and Saturday in the French region of Bretanja.
The G7 members are France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the US, Great Britain and Canada.
