Kosovo's karate national has travelled to Spain, where the 54th European Championship for Seniors will be held on 28 March in the town of Guadayarra, Spain.
A total of 10 karate will represent Kosovo in the state, which continues not to recognise our country, while often causing problems to our athletes.
Vlerona Shala (kata), Albula Gervalla (-55kg), Fort Orana (+68kg), Silverd Berjan (kata), Orges Arifi (-60kg), Star Cenaj (-67kg), Elhami Shaban (-75kg), Alvin Karaqi (-84kg), Heroid Nishevci (+84kg), will look for medals, while at our national quotas represented by: Nishevcin, Arifi, Cenajan, Karaqi, Saban, and Blodin Pakshtica.
Albulen Gervalla comes after success in the U-21 European held last month in Aalboorg, Denmark, where he won the bronze medal, while Heroid Nishevci returns to the post-miss in Karate 1 Serie A Salzburg 2019, where he won the gold medal last year.
The karate expedition has travelled to Spain on Tuesday. Before leaving, they have expressed optimism to win medals.
We are fully prepared for participation in these very important races, and I hope that in Kosovo we will return as winners with medals. There we will go with ten contestants, three women and seven men”, said Ismet Krasniqi, chairman of the Federation of Karate of Kosovo.
In the past European held in Novi Sad of Serbia, our national was denied access to Serbia by the government of this country. The present European is a good chance of winning Olympic points for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, as well as winning the European Games rate for Minsk 2019, held from 21-30 June 2019 in Minsk in Belarus.
