Attacked Liverpool fan, sentenced to three and a half years in prison

A fan of Rome has been imprisoned for three and a half years after accepting the attack on Liverpool fan Sean Cox in front of the World Champions League semifinals in England, last season. Simone Mastrell was found guilty at the Preston Crown Court after hurting illegally and maliciously, causing serious bodily injuries to Sean Cox, who spent four and a half weeks in a neurological hospital specialised at the Walton City Centre of Liverpool after the attack.
The 53-year-old was then transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin and continues his recovery from severe injuries at Ireland's National Security Hospital in Dun Laogtaire, Periscope broadcast.

Maestrell was declared not guilty of a particular charge of mental disorder that will remain in the file after the court accepted his prayer.
