According to Rafael Wlodarski, a behavioral data scientist who studies filmology (a kiss attempt) at Oxford University in England, the kiss we now know is very new. Modern kiss is up to 3,500 years old.
The word “put” comes from India. Vaughn Bryant, an anthropologist who studies kissing science at Texas's A & M University, explained to the Wall Street Journal that the root of the English word “puta” stems from the word “c.”, which was used in India. The first kiss may have happened in this South Asian country.
It is believed that kisses spread especially in Rome. According to psychiatrist and philosopher Neel Burton, the Romans kissed their partners or lovers, family and friends, and rulers. For the first time in Rome, a couple at their wedding ceremony kissed in front of their weddings.
With the fall of the Roman Empire, however, the kiss as a romantic gesture had disappeared. Until a thousand years later, the kiss did not turn into romance.
