A new blood test promises to reveal the presence of 20 types of cancer, according to the discovery of the Institute”Dana Faber” in Boston (Harvard) and the first tests showed remarkable accuracy in 99.6% of cases, where tests were able to correctly identify patients with tumors and organ from which cancer originated.
The data was presented at the Conference of the European Oncology Association.
The analysis was conducted by”Gral Inc”, a biotechnology company that uses innovative methods to monitor genetic sequences: namely, the new exam seeks to identify the presence of micro (mablel) chemicals involved through a process called methyilim in activism or deactivation of genes related to tumor development.
The method has been tested on 3 600 patients, some with cancer, others not.
The test correctly revealed some indications in the blood of those who were sick and identified the organ of the origin of the Neoplasma.
The new”analysis is different from so-called liquid biopsy, which requires genetic mutations within the DNA of cancer cells, the institute's”Dana Faber” stressed.
