According to a recent study, marriages suffer when mothers believe that they are sacrificing their careers and contributing more than their own opportunities at home.

But there is good news: The solution can be as simple as having a serious conversation with your partner about responsibilities both inside and outside the home, says Jill Whitney, an expert on family and marriage issues.

“This is why it is important for couples to have certain conversations of “forta” and honesty. Finding the right balance will look different for each family. While some women desperately want to stay home with their young children, others are happier if they work full - time”, Whitney says.
