The 33-year-old had managed to win the Champions League title for three consecutive years before moving to Juventus for 112m euros during the passing summer deadline. However, this year was also the first year after three years of failing to win the Golden Ball.
Ronaldo said he doesn't play for titles and that the welcome he received from Juventu fans after his transfer to Italy has made him very special in the Portuguese career, which he even considers the best in career.
I don't want to break records, but I work for the benefit of the club. The year 2018 was the best in my career. In Serie A opponents are as protected from me as much as they did in Spain, but there is less room here because all clubs have wonderful protection”, Ronaldo said.
“Triumfi in the Champions League is a dream to me, but we shouldn't make this look like an obsession. Team headlines are important and I'm working on them. Everyone in Turin miraculously welcomed me”.
Everybody's feeling good. I don't know where my career is gonna end, but I'm fine and I want to keep up with it for many years. Will I go back to Sporting like Nanny? You never know at football”.
It was the right decision to temporarily leave Portugal's national team, but I will be back in 2019<1>.
