Minister Shala hosted Prime Minister Haradinaj at the meeting, 2019 named for strategic investments

Trade and Industry Minister Andrew Shala has hosted the meeting of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, where he discussed the investment climate in Kosovo and MTI priorities during 2019.

Minister Shala said this year will be strategic investments, where he announced that the Strategic Investment Law has so far applied 11 companies, which the investment value is 1 billion and 800m euros.

“I had the honour of having Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj on MTI, where I announced him with MTI priorities and I as the minister I will have during 2019. The main focus during meeting with the prime minister has been strategic, competenceal MTI investments. I announced to the prime minister that 11 strategic investors have come, investments that total the figure of 1 billion and 800m euros, and that very soon, after recent changes to the law we have made, I think by the beginning of this month to start with the proclamation of strategic investors. The topic of meeting with the prime minister was also the other priorities of the MTI, which we think about developing and implementing during this year, which is our economy, our country's development, the support of local producers, the support of businesses, and thereby strengthen economics and increase employment”, said Minister Shala.

While Prime Minister Haradinaj has thanked Minister Shala for the work and engagement, which, according to him, has been investigated in content.

Haradinaj has stressed that there is good news regarding strategic investors, underlining that very soon strategic investors will be announced.

It's a bit of a coincidence that we're starting our work year with our first visit to MTI. We talked about developments, but we talked about targets. I thanked the minister for the commitment that is really investigated in content. We now have a good time ahead of ourselves and have good news that all the rules and legislation is ready to go towards the proclamation of the first strategic investors, something we've been waiting for two decades. I learned from the minister that in the first ten days, the first strategic investor can be declared, and I hope that Kosovo will receive this news, and that thus will follow 11 strategic investors in the rankings, which grasp the value of close to 2 billion euros in investments, most are in energy, transport and tourism. We have entered an intensive phase of developing the country”, Prime Minister Haradinaj has said.
