Thaci invites civil society to become part of dialogue with Serbia

Civil society organisations in Kosovo have today sought by President Hashim Thaci not to make confiscatous statements, but to focus on dialogue with Serbia. Their letter has been answered by Thaci, who in a Facebook post wrote that Kosovo is fortunate to have these civil societies and that dialogue leads with its principles.
Thaci has reiterated that he has sent an invitation to civil society to become a part of dialogue with Serbia and to conclude the war chapter.
Below is Thaci's post:
Kosovo is lucky to have active civil society, which reacts to the needs of society and works for the interests of Kosovo citizens. I am in the same line with them, as I am guided in my work by dedication to realize the interests of citizens. Even in the process of dialogue, I am guided by this principle and am engaged in finding the best solution for Kosovo and our citizens.
For the citizens of Kosovo, it is not in the interest to preserve Status Quo. This is hindering Kosovo's progress and the internal and international consolidation of our state. By reaching the final agreement with Serbia, we will move forward and pave the way for Kosovo's unhindered development. While closing the war chapter and hostilities with Serbia, we will pave the way for the white light of the undiscovered. By gaining recognition from Serbia and ensuring membership in international organisations, we will become part of mechanisms that protect and guarantee human rights for all our citizens. Opening a new chapter of peace creates clear and secure European prospects for our country.
Kosovo has become a factor of peace and stability in the region. It has become an example of confronting the past and building multiethnic society, where all live in tolerance, regardless of ethnic and religious affiliation. By consolidating the Kosovo state and society, we further strengthen these values, which present the foundation of our state and society.
Everlasting peace between Kosovo and Serbia also means lasting peace and stability in our entire region. At the same time, as in the past, at every step I will be co-ordinated with our Western partners.
Seeing that we are on the same line in our commitment to ensuring better life for all Kosovo citizens, I repeat the invitation to civil society to become part of dialogue and contribute specifically to the closure of the war chapter and the opening of the new chapter for Kosovo and the entire region.
