Mustafa: No exchange of territories, but only union of Valley with Kosovo

The president of the Albanian Democratic Party (DPA), Ragmi Mustafa, has said today that uniting the Presevo Valley with Kosovo is the best “resolution of the permanent normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia. For the Serbian agency “beta”, Mustafa has said this will be one of the proposals which will be in order by the end of August or early September during dialogue between the two countries in Brussels.
“It is normal that we have requested to meet Kosovo, but it is not about exchange of territories but it is about a new demarcation of the border during which Kosovo and Serbia, through the new agreement that will be permanent, in the best way, will solve their problems and continue towards European integrations. When two neighbouring states talk about demarcation of the border, normally that one another cares for their minorities”, Mustafa has said.
Speaking of a statement with which Albanian advisers from Presevo, Bujanci and Medvedja gave official <x0 mind preferences to Kosovo's president, prime minister and negotiating team to represent their rights during negotiations with Belgrade in Brussels”, Mustafa said Albanian political representatives from these municipalities discussed a month and a half ago even with political leaders in Albania.
“Albanians from these three municipalities no longer expect their rights to improve under Serbia because none of the past agreements have been implemented. When the Republic parliament in 2013 adopted the seven-point Declaration of Albanians' demands, the then president and prime minister of Serbia assessed that they were completely real requirements, which will be addressed by any ministry of the line, but no ministry has launched anything”, Mustafa has said.
Adding that Albanians from the south of Serbia “now expect 20 years to resolve their basic rights, which has not occurred”, Mustafa has estimated that the request the Presevo Valley meets Kosovo “has the legitimacy of the referendum, which in Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja was held on March 1st and 2nd of 1992 in which Albanians voted in favour of joining Kosovo<3>.
