In a symbolic patrol ceremony, patrols have begun at the border point between the two states in Vremica.
In this case, the directors of the street police of both states -- the one from Kosovo by Lieutenant Colonel Sabdin Mehmeti and Albania -- Mitat Tola have said these patrols are the result of the success of the three years in advance under the memorandum of co-operation between the two police.
“We have three patrol teams, and these will vary depending on the need”, said Sabdin Mehmeti, director of the Kosovo road police.
Meanwhile, his counterpart from Albania, Mitat Tola, also had a message for all who storm the Albanian coast.
We're not here to punish anyone but to prevent... be careful, don't drive when you drink alcohol, put on your seat belt, slow your speed”, he said.
This is the third year of joint Kosovo-Albania police patrols at the summer season.
