Construction of a wall up to 60 inches [70 cm] high on the northern part of the Iber River bridge is not seen as a threat by the Government of Kosovo, even the power says it will not be the wall, but it is part of the pedestrian walkway, which is part of the European Union project.
Meanwhile, the opposition values this wall as formidable. According to opposition, partitioning of Kosovo is concrete through the wall
The Kosovo government has said there will be no wall in northern Mitrovica, but the works that are becoming a few metres away from Ibri have to do with fixing a pedestrian mall and which is a European Union project.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning Inspectorate has clarified to the newspaper “Zer” that the works are under the agreement reached in February last year between Kosovo institutions and northern Mitrovica chairman Goran Rakic for the collapse of the wall, which was built in December 2016 in this country.
On the other hand, the Kosovo opposition establishing such a wall views it as a risk for “to swear Kosovo partition”.
The prime minister's office has told the newspaper “Voice” that it is not about raising the wall in that part, but that construction is part of the European Union project.
