Haradinaj meets with July 2nd delegates, calling it a living story

Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj declared today that the July 2nd 1990 Declaration has set the basis for further actions for Kosovo's declaration of independence. He made these comments after meeting with a group of delegates who signed the July 2nd Constitutional Declaration, with which he has discussed topics in the country's interest. Haradinaj said [...]

Haradinaj said he met with delegates, who are the living history of Kosovo.

“Today I have had the honor of expecting the living delegates, the vivid history of Kosovo, to have a conversation and to thank them from the heart, to congratulate the delegates on the July day of our living history, to all citizens, and to have used the opportunity to discuss the topics that bother us today, said he.

While talking about the status of delegates on July 2nd, he said it is important that they have a law on this, as this is an honor to this category, which, according to him, has at key moments accomplished their duties in the country's service.

The status quo has a legal initiative. It is now located in Parliament in the phase of a proposal -- a document concept. It may happen that it will be further prosecuted at the plenary hearing, as a law on the status of delegates or deputies in the 90th year. If you pass from Parliament, we will support him as Government. There is a cost that is modest annual. If not then we can draft a law, the document concept for the status of the delegates back then and pass it on to parliament. But I think it's important that this happens”, he said.

Ilaz Ramajli, who was then chairman of the Assembly, thanked the prime minister for the care shown. While stressing that at the meeting with the prime minister, they have put forward and the issue of material support for delegates from the former Kosovo seat of the 1990s.

“You have had special care and at the time when you were not prime minister for this composition. And what you invited us today is a special honor for us. As the prime minister was told, apart from that we as delegates presented some issues that are of interest only to this group -- that is, only to the delegates of the Kosovo Republic of Kosovo Assembly -- that concern their material support. The prime minister had the goodness to announce to us some key issues, which are under way in the Republic of Kosovo, which are political issues, but also those that are of extraordinary importance, for the country's economic development”, he said.

He had a message for the current politicians, who he said need an absolute unification on the issue of dialogue, as Kosovo at this time according to him is in a delicate situation.

I believe that Kosovo is in a very delicate situation at this time. As the prime minister announced, preparations and development of discussions are for completing final contract reports with Serbia and several other issues. I believe based on the experience of the 1990s even today, an absolute unification of the political factor in Kosovo and the factor of institutions is needed to achieve the final goal”, Ramajli said.
