Former head of England's Football Federation, Lord Triesman, has said England will be host to the 2022 World Cup if Qatar is found to have violated FIFA rules.
It has recently been rumoured that Qatar will receive the right to host the 2022 World Cup. In a “article Sunday Times”, it is said they had hired an American public relations company and former CIA agents to tarnish opponents' campaigners, one of which was England.
If Qatar is proven to have violated FIFA's rules, then they cannot keep the World Cup. It would be a mistake if FIFA didn't reconsider England's application under these conditions”, Triesman said.
Qatar has been charged with corruption before, but was acquitted following a two-year investigation by FIFA.
