Marko Djuric and Serbia's Education Minister Mladen Sharchevic are two senior Serbian government officials who have come to northern Mitrovica on the day when Serbs are marking the anniversary of Kosovo's Battle.
The news has been confirmed by Kosovo Police spokesman Besim Hoti.
Hoti has told Express that the two Serbian officials have arrived in northern Mitrovica at 11:00, but that it is still not known whether they have it on the agenda to go to Gazimestan, as the reason for their arrival to Kosovo is not Vidovdan's holiday.
While in Gazimestan near Pristina, Serbian pilgrims have gathered at the monument symbolising Kosovo's “Bethea” of 1389 to mark their religious holiday, Vidovdan.
They have come organisedly with buses, while Kosovo police are holding order for the religious ceremony.
Local Serbs, but also from Serbia, are participating in the manifesto in Gazimestan today.
Yesterday, MPJ announced that it has rejected Serbia's Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin's request to participate in the celebration of Vidovdan.
