Hakki Shatri, adviser to Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, has confirmed that so far the Kosovo government has still paid US-Turkish consortium “Bechtel Enka<x1m euros as penalty for delaying payments, but also for extensions of the works for more than a year.
The energy of state leaders is costing the state budget millions of euros.
Just because of poor public money Kosovo is being forced to cover its mistakes with millions of euros.
Once 53m euros in the company “Bechtel Enka” for failure to establish the contract, and about a million others as a form of punishment for failing to withdraw financial means from international institutions.
All these losses are being billed to the budget as a result of the failure and neglect of the key responsible ones managing public money.
At least so has former Economy and Finance Minister Haki Shatri, currently adviser to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
In a Pronouncement for the Journal “Audio” Shatri has called delays and timeless operating projects a clean loss.
“I don't know the damage that much must be worked out to find all the cases when the means are allowed and no preparations have been made for their use when external loans are taken without necessary precautions. For delays taking place until the beginning of project implementation, these are a neglect, a failure in the work of those competent to manage with public money. It's a clean waste of money, but also due to delays, even due to the long-term malfunction of these <x1-> projects, the prime minister's adviser has declared.
On the other hand, he has confirmed that the company “Bechtel Enka” has not yet been paid a 53m euro payment.
