Mats Hummels has dismissed rumours that the 2018 World Cup will be Germany's last major football tournament.
Bayern Munich's 29-year-old guard thinks he can play in Euro 2020, so the event in Russia will not close with his farewell from international football.
I don't believe the World Cup will be my last tournament. If the coach had me on his plans I'd be happy to play in Euro 2020 because I'd be 31 years old and have the energy to do a good job”, Hummels said.
However, he said he does not expect another World, Qatar, to play in 2022.
I'll be almost 34 when the World Cup starts in Qatar. With the idea that I have now, I will have closed my adventure with the nationals, even if this event will take place in the winter”, Beyern Munchen's defender stressed.
