Chief Parliamentary Veselin once again confirmed the commitment of Kosovo's institutions and people to move faster on European integration processes, but also stressed the need for the European Union to move forward in relation to Kosovo and its citizens, especially in terms of visa removal this year.
Mrs. Fajon is doing an extremely positive job so that visa liberalisation for our citizens can happen. We analyzed the reality we're in. We're almost in the final phase. All technical conditions have been met. Now we just need political decision-making. I'm sure that by the end of this year our citizens will move freely without visas to the Schengen Zone. Mrs. Fajon also advised me which countries we should be instructed to convince them about visa liberalisation. We are on the verge of the grand decision”, Chief Parliamentary Veseli pointed out.
Even rapporteur Fajon, in turn, voiced confidence that visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens will happen this year, because, as she said, Kosovo has already fulfilled all criteria.
She said that once the Commission comes out with a positive report in late June, immediately in early July I will put the Kosovo visa liberalisation Commission on the agenda.
I am happy to meet the Kosovo Parliament Speaker to discuss future steps for visa liberalisation. My support is unequivocal, because Kosovo citizens deserve to travel visa-free to the Schengen Zone”, Fajon said, reporting on visa liberalisation for Kosovo.
