In October 2017, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte became a living legend as he cycled to the royal palace to meet King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
But Rutte has again taken the attention of the public and the media, as he entered Parliament headquarters, poured out his cup of coffee to him, and he did not hesitate to take the broom and clean up the chair himself.
The prime minister's gesture was praised by the Sanitors of the Parliament building, who applauded as he cleaned the floor.
Under the watchful eyes of many witnesses, including Alexander Pechtold from the Democratic Party and Sybrad Buma, he borrowed a bucket and a rag to wash the floor and a piece of rag to wipe some stains in the object where it becomes a check-in.
Social media users have been surprised by Rutte's move, viewing it as a “example of humble leadership”.
