The Kosovo Journalists' Association Board has dismissed AGK Executive Director Arben Salihu from office, under suspicion of misuse of official office, conflict of interest, counterfeiting documents, false reporting before the Board and links of harmful contracts without the Board's preliminary knowledge, committing violations of the organisation's statute, labour contract and legislation in force.
“Based in initial allegations Salihu has been suspended since March 13th 2018 in order to pave the way for a general and independent audit of the organisation for the period of two years. Following the acceptance of the auditing report, where many violations have been found, the AGK Board has made a firm decision that Salihu, with automatism of automating the” contract, is said to have announced AGK.
The AGK has also approved the resignation of finance director Florina Descu, who has been offered following the presentation of the draft independent audit document, where violations and concessions are identified in the area of finance management, and after being caught reporting falsely about financial reports handed over to donors.
AGK's “Bord is deeply disappointed with the situation created and expresses determination for co-operation with justice bodies with the aim of fully investigating all allegations. At the same time, the Board ensures the journalists' community that the situation created will not affect the work and performance of the organisation”, said the report.
The AGK board, all available files and material will proceed to justice bodies.
