Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has said he is not very optimistic when it comes to resolving the Kosovo issue and that this issue is not an easy one at all, since there is still much hatred between the two countries.

He has said Serbia is constantly working on finding a compromise.

If you ask me if I'm optimistic, I'm not, but if you ask me if we're working on reaching a compromise, we're working. I can't guarantee that the other side is doing the same thing”, Vuciq said in an interview for the Madrile daily, El Pais, broadcast Periscope.

This, according to Vuchy, is by no means easy.

“There is still a lot of hatred between Serbs and Albanians, but we have to overcome this and find a compromise”, Vuciq has said, telling El Paisı that Kosovo has declared an independence partial ten years ago and adding that for this, the European Union views a final agreement between the two countries as very important.

Asked about the future, Vuciq says:

I think when you look into the future, what you're looking for is more work for young people, on the contrary, there won't be a future for us. We must leave behind the traumas and battles of our past”.

We have fought wars that we don't want to happen in this century anymore, we have to leave the past behind and work for the achievement of peace and stability in the region”, Vuciq was quoted as saying, the Periscope broadcast.

In this interview, Vuciq has also talked about his reports with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“To be honest, Putin is a friend of Serbia and he is constantly respecting our” decisions, Vuciq has said.

He has welcomed the Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy's decision not to attend the summit where Kosovo was.

He has welcomed that decision, saying that Rhejo is very popular in Serbia”. /Periscope.
