Serbia Zoran Vukotqi acquitted of 1999 killing four Albanian civilians

Zoran Vukotic, charged with killing four Albanian civilians on May 5th 1999, has been acquitted of charges in the absence of evidence. This, although Darius Sieliczki, chairman of the court, has said that Vukotti “deliberately beat and then killed Enver Rulustoll, Hamdi Fazliu, Avdula Fazliun and Fahredin Fazliu in the Fazliu family home, after he had even beaten and robbed other Albanian civilians<1>, reports KTV.

The damaged parties are instructed for civil lawsuits for damages compensation.

Sieliczki, after the court ruling, said that “had no doubt of the facts, things that happened in May 1999, but there were serious doubts about Zoran Vukotic's participation in these actions as a responsible person for all the bad things that had happened to families”.

In addition to this case he was released, two counts of war crimes remain to Vukotic, cases being tried at the Constitutional Court of Mitrovica.
