Election exit by 4: 00 p.m. is about 10 percent lower compared to the 2016 parliamentary elections, said the Centre for Democratic Transition (CDT), an organisation that oversees the course of voting.
DIK and nongovernmental organisations that pass elections are of reconciliation that tensions are apparently lower than parliamentary elections 2016, when a group accused of terrorism was detained prior to the elections. The state electoral commission said there has been no complaint about the voting process by 3: 00 p.m., while observers point out irregularities that primarily concern violating the principle of the secret voting. Montenegro today elects the president of the state for the third time since its declaration of independence.
The candidates for the post are Milo Djukanovic from DPS, Mladen Bojanick from the majority of the opposition, Draginje Vuksanovic from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Marko Milacicq representative of Prve Crne Gore, Vasilije Milikovic from the citizens' group, Hazbia Kalac from the Party of Justice and Decitim, and representative of the Serb Coalition Dobrilo Deideq. More than half of the valid votes are needed for victory in the first round. If the president is not elected in the first circle, the polls are repeated in two weeks.
Incumbent President Filip Vujanovic in May expires his mandate. He was in charge of the state president on three mandates. Voter rights have 532,599 citizens voting at 1,14 seats, which will be closed tonight at 20.00. The elections are monitored by about 2,000 local and international monitors, while the preliminary results of projections are expected to emerge an hour after the deployments close.
