The municipality's vice president in Mecca, Fahd Al-Rowky, announced on Monday that he plans to donate to Egyptian football player Mohammed Salah, a piece of land in Mecca, as a token of the award's gain of “Best Player of the Year in Premierliga”.
Salah, who has scored 43 goals and donated 15 assets to Liverpool in all competitions so far this season, was declared the best player for the 2017-18 season in Premierligle on Monday.
Al-Rowky said there are several options to give Salah's gift.
“There are several options to give a piece of land to Salah. This will be decided by Captain Mohammed Salalah and the Saudi system.
If the Saudi system allows the land of Mecca to be owned by Salah, then we will provide him with a piece of land at holy Mecca near Al-Haram Mosque.
The next option will be to build a mosque on this earth in its name. And the third option is to sell the land and give the money to Salah, if he accepts”, Al-Rowky explained.
Rowky has stressed that this gesture is being made in recognition of Salah and his praiseworthy behavior, adding that the Egyptian king is a wonderful messenger of Islam to Great Britain.
