Russia's Patriarch Kiril will visit Albania at the end of the month, where he will meet with Archbishop Anastas Yanulatos.

The visit will take place from April 28th-30th, while besides Archbishop Kiril will meet with President Ilir Meta, but other top state officials as well.

The news has been disclosed by the very responsibility of Moscow Patriarch's press office, Alexander Volkov.

“This time he will visit Albania's martyr church, which suffered greatly in the 20th century and was practically destroyed”, the Russian Orthodox Church press release said.

It also points out that Russian Patriarch Kiril and Albanian Yanulatos have an almost 50-year friendship, which they have maintained and strengthened more and more.

This is not the first time Yanulatos and Kiril meet together, but is the first official visit by the Russian Patriarch to Albania. / T CH/
