The International Products Fair, “Pristina 2018<18x1>, which opened today in the Kosovo capital, found that participants in it are only one company from Albania and 70 from Serbia.
Albania's ambassador to Kosovo, Kemal Minxhozi, has said this disrepute presents nothing wrong in this case, even calling it a positive thing.
In Info Magazine of Kosovo, Minxhozi has mentioned that last year at the fair in Pristina, there have been over 20 businesses, but that turnout, which, according to him this year is in existence, has occurred due to a lack of time.
This time the problem is not carefully followed. This level of representation of Albania, almost zero, does not respond to trade relations between Kosovo and Serbia. Last year there are 200m euros in trade exchanges, while this year Albania has had two per cent exports, more than Kosovo 20 per cent more”, Minxhozi said.
Minxhozi has said it is not true that businesses from Albania have refused to participate in the “Pristina 2018 fair.
“Businesses continue to communicate. There are problems and more needs to be done, but the number of Albania's participation in the fair shows that it does not respond to reality. I only got an invitation five days ago and that's it. At the fair in November were 70 companies. This has nothing to do with the low level of trade relations. It's a lack of organization”.
“does not question that there are barriers and they must be removed gradually. The level of trade relations is much higher than Albania's representation of the fair. The business climate could be better. Kosovo has a better climate with Albania than all countries together. What is exported to Albania within the year is not exported to any country in the region”.
