Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has commented with a statement on the Serbian List's release from the Government.
Thaci has called the move a provocation of the Serbian state.
President's statement:
Just the day Kosovo institutions started working on the creation of the wide institutional Work Group, which will co-operate with the Management Team and the O Mission. The SEU in Kosovo for the draft of the Status of Association of Serb-run municipalities, provocation by the state of Serbia occurred.
Today's decision to exit the Serbian List is confirmed by Kosovo institutions.
Monday's developments, on March 26th 2018, are contrary to commitments for dialogue and for building lasting peace in Kosovo, as well as violating efforts to normalise reports between Kosovo and Serbia.
Make the invitation to respect and preserve the spirit of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia and remain focused on normalising relations, building good neighbourly and reconciliation.
Today I talked again with the EU High Representative, Federica Moghrini, with whom we once again agreed on the need to reduce tensions, because dialogue has no alternative, and we should all focus on the road ahead. The EU High Representative announced to me that today she will travel to Belgrade to meet with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, to bear the same message that dialogue and reconciliation are the only way forward.
Kosovo remains committed to rule of law in its entire territory and will always require all to respect Kosovo's laws.
I'm sorry that yesterday's events have troubled peace and disturbed all of Kosovo's communities, but I invite everyone to keep their reason.
While police have shown professionalism in its work, I also welcome the response of state institutions, especially the Kosovo Ministry of Interior and Police that have reacted in time, as well as their willingness to examine and assess with high professionalism and responsibility all developments Monday, March 26, 2018, related to Marko Djurici's illegal entry to Kosovo.
