The Ministry of Infrastructure, through a media conference, has today presented the commission's report, appointed by Infrastructure Minister Paul Lekaj, following landslides during the development of works to expand the N2 National Road, segmeti at Pristina's entrance to the Veternik neighbourhood, Lot 1 and Lot 2.
Deputy Infrastructure Minister Rexhep Kadriou presented this report at the conference.
On this occasion Deputy Prime Minister Kadriou said: “We just completed the meeting by the commission's report, which was formed by the decision of Minister Paul Lekaj, the moment the landslides and the defence wall were presented in the expansion of N2 Street, in the Veternik neighbourhood at the entrance of Pristina. This commission has been working about 3 weeks on drafting this report, representatives of this commission have been three professors of the Faculty of Construction and two representatives from the Ministry of Infrastructure.
This is going to be a preliminary report and we're going to send it to the projective company, the company that's developed the works on this road and then we're going to take their suggestion of why it's up to this landslide. We are determined that all roads that will be built in the Republic of Kosovo in 2018 will be European standards routes. No project will be allowed for the interests of any political party, or electoral issues to begin the work, we will work according to road construction standards and as citizens of the Republic of Kosovo” deserve.
While Professor Nasser Kabashi, chairman of the commission that has made the assessment of the causes of landslides on this part of the road, praised: “the task the commission has received, which consists of experts in various areas of construction, geomechanicals, hydrology, execution engineering, had before itself a complex task, to expose all that has happened. This is about design, which involves some related links and if any of these fail, there will still be failures of the project. In principle, we have many links, perhaps disrespecting the geomechanical conditions of the project, then with the project, which was based on rhammeric, but there were some impasses or slides, and then what helped this, there were the results, however, including other components that are involved in this report. ”
