Asked by EO whether Kosovo should definitely pay this amount, Zharku has denied such a thing, saying that any cent paid on the 14.78m sum is illegal.
According to him, the government and the Assembly have not shared sufficient financial means to fulfil obligations to the company Bechtel & Enka.
“It is not the issue that the ministry has not carried out the payments, but it is the question that Government and Parliament have not set aside sufficient means to do things, to carry out the contract. Kosovo does not go to arbitration, considering there is no basis for arbitration. There is a decision of an inter-ministerial commission that is 14.78 million”.
“Bechtel&Enka” has asked the Government of Kosovo to pay the amount of 63m euros due to effective labour, on behalf of the amortisation of labour tools, as well as the repayment of their obligations to banks.
