Russia, Iran and China have sharply criticised Washington's new policy plan recently published for expanding the United States nuclear capacity.
The plan, which envisions the American nuclear arsenal being replaced by the development of short-range nuclear weapons, has been announced through a statement by US President Donald Trump's administration on February twoth.
Iranian President Hassan Rohan has today accused the US of shamelessly threatening Russia with new weapons”.
Speaking in a televised speech from Tehran, Rohan has said that, “the same people who allegedly believe that using weapons is a crime against humanity are talking about new weapons to be used against rivals”.
China on February 4th has criticised the US government for portraying Beijing as a potential opponent, as reviewing US nuclear policy, has estimated that Washington wants to prevent Beijing by mistake to conclude that the use of nuclear weapons, regardless of how limited it is acceptable.
China's Defence Ministry has said that its army's activities are for protection and the nuclear arsenal is in “and the minimum <x0-level”, required for security.
Through a statement, this minister has said he hopes the United States will “abandon the Cold War mentality”.
Russian officials have described the US nuclear doctrine as false about Russian assumptions.
On 3 February, Chairman of the Council of the Russian Federation for Defence and Security Viktor Bondarev has charged Washington with “seeking a reason for each of their political, economic or military steps”.
This is the first time since 2010 that the American Army has announced how it views nuclear threats in the coming decades.
It says Russia must know that it will face its own unaffordable <x0-cysto”, in case it threatens only limited nuclear attack in Europe.
“This is the response to Russia for the capacity and nature of their strategy and doctrine”, Defence Secretary Jim Mattis said in the 75-page report.
The report also contains American concerns about North Korea, Iran, and China.
