“in Argentina, Trump has told Erdogan that they are working to extradite Gulen and other people to Turkey”, Cavusoglu said at a conference in Qatar, referring to the G20 summit that was held last month in Buenos Aires.
The White House is reportedly looking for ways to do this favour to Erdogan, in order to allay his anger in the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Two senior U.S. officials and two others who are close to these developments have talked about this.
The Trump administration has asked law enforcement agencies to find legal ways to extradite Fetullah Gulen so that Erdogan can ease his stance and pressure on the Saudi government. Gulen is a controversial figure in Turkey because Erdogan accused him of organising the failed stamp in 2016, writes “NBC News”, transmission Express.
