It is said that the greatest miracle lasts three days. So long has the news that on December 31st, the invincible American boxer Floyd Maywether will return to the ring to hold a duel with Japanese Tenshin Nasukawa.

But what was promoted as a great challenge today has become a bubble of soap. Once back in America, Mayweather has rejected everything, cancelling the challenge. Through a long post on his official page at “Instagram”, the American boxer has explained why he made that decision.

Now that I have returned to America, after a long and disappointing trip to Tokyo, I have time to address you, my fans and the media about the upcoming event on December 31st, which was recently announced.

First and foremost, I want it to be clear that I, Floyd Maywether, never agreed to hold an official challenge with Tenshin Nasukawa. In fact (with all due respect) I had never heard of him before, until this trip to Japan.

Recently, I was asked to participate in a events like this, in a nine-minute, three-way duel, against a rival chosen by Ryzen Fighting Federation”, explains Mayweather.

I was first informed by Brant Johnson, by Anne Entainment, that this would be a challenge, something organized for a small group of spectators, rich people, for a very large fee. This confrontation was originally organised as a special éduel, just for fun purposes, with no intention to represent as an official boxing challenge, for fans or television.

As soon as I arrived at the press conference, my team and I were stunned by the new direction given to this duel. We should have stopped this event immediately. I sincerely want to apologize to my fans for the disoriented information given during this press conference, and I can assure you that I too was totally blind to the agreement being made without my approval.

For the sake of fans and participants who flew all over the world to attend that press conference, I was puzzled and didn't want to create a big mess, stop what was said there, and for this situation that was created I'm sorry. I'm a retired boxer, who earns an unprecedented amount of money on a global level, for my public appearances and various commitments”, wrote Mayweather.
